– Abdul Khan, Chair of Compliance and Interoperability Work Group
Our latest Plugfest on May 14th at Allion Labs in Taipei has got everyone very excited – but why should it matter?
We have had several plugfests before but this is the first one where we are offering members the opportunity to do some preliminary testing of their G.hn prototypes and final products against HGF G.hn Reference Products and previously certified products. This pre-testing will provide early results for those seeking certification and will expedite the certification process for their products.
The plugfest is also a great opportunity for members to learn more about the HomeGrid certification process and the tools/setups being used for certification testing.
I believe that the plugfest provides a great impetus for our G.hn certification program which is really moving forward rapidly. Allion Labs has received many requests for certification from system vendors and we expect to be making a number of certification announcements in the next few weeks.
One further bonus, and an indicator of how important this event is, is that the plugfest will also give participants a chance to meet key members of the HGF certification process: I will be attending as chair of the Compliance and Interoperability Work Group, and both Livia Rosu, chair of the Marketing Work Group and our new president Donna Yasay is also attending, making her first trip to Asia on behalf of HomeGrid.
If you want to know more, please go to our Plugfest web page, or read our news release in the news section of the HomeGrid Forum website.
Please also note that HomeGrid Forum will be back in Taipei in June for Computex, from June 02-06, 2015, where we will be showing our wares at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition on Booth G0528 in Hall 3 and will be holding a press conference on June 3rd at Conference Room #2, Hall 1 of the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition.
