Computex – a ‘multi’ – experience in every way

by Livia Rosu, Marketing Working Group Chair [Marvell]

Taipei, Taiwan was once again host to our major Asia show of the year – Computex 2015 – in the first week of June. It was a race to be ready on time, but we not only had an even bigger show of demonstrations and participants than even at CES2015, but we also held a press conference and seminar at which we were able to announce our first significant tranche of G.hn certifications. This is a significant step forward for the Forum and all our members!

Our very striking booth (G0528 in Hall 3 at TWTC) attracted many visitors as the photos show – it also gave us the perfect backdrop for our substantial displays and demonstrations.

“Multi” was very much the watchword this year – multi-faceted G.hn and large scale networks showing multi-room, multi-node and multicast G.hn demonstrating its multi-vendor, multi-source and multi-wire capability over Coax, Powerline, Phoneline and Plastic Optical Fiber. How much more versatile can you get?!

Our showcase demonstrations included showing off 4K HDTV in-home delivery and the real-world applications of the G.hn certified products now on the market. Another first was the Smart Home network convergence demo featuring an i-Family smart home management system, demonstrating how G.hn has also made the transition to converge with wireless technologies within the home.

At Computex we fielded the largest number of HomeGrid G.hn participants ever brought together at an event. Members included ARRIS Group Inc, Comtrend, D-Link, Institute for Information Industry of Taiwan (III), Marvell, Metanoia, Prime Electronics & Satellitics, SendTek, Sigma Designs, Suttle, Tecom, Teleconnect, Xingtera , and Zinwell.
