Do we really need another standards forum? Why is HomeGrid Forum different?

By Donna Yasay, President of HomeGrid Forum

I recently spent “5 minutes” speaking with Embedded Computing Brand Director, Rich Nass, to discuss the proliferation of industry standards bodies promoting differing technologies and why HomeGrid Forum, with our primary function to push for G.hn, is any different.

Due to the uniqueness of the technology, G.hn can work and collaborate on many different mediums and there isn’t a forum in existence that could cover all these aspects. Competing technologies to G.hn only cover one specific medium. There just isn’t one umbrella forum that helps all mediums collaborate at once. This is why the HomeGrid Forum was formed: To help push for all the different use cases of G.hn technology at once.
