How can ISPs maximise the use of physical-layer technologies while simultaneously enhancing the customer experience?

I recently wrote a guest blog for Embedded Computing discussing the benefits of industry certification programs for Internet Service Providers (ISPs). This is important when considering the fact that many legacy powerline technologies lack compatibility and offer almost no interoperability.

A well-designed certification program has the potential to add significant value for ISPs who want to deploy certain physical-layer networking technologies. A comprehensive test program requires considerable resourcing while an industry program can distribute the cost and provide valuable input during the BETA stages.
