Last month, our President, Donna Yasay, represented the HomeGrid Forum at IoT Tech Expo North America, which was held in Santa Clara in October. Yasay spoke on the ‘interoperability as the key to success’ panel.
Donna Yasay, HomeGrid Forum President, on the 'interoperabilty as the key to success' panel
The event, which was held across two days, brought together vendors, developers, suppliers and key industry figures alike, to discuss and showcase the latest products and innovations within the IoT realm, with much of the conversation focused on examining the challenges these innovations face, and overcome.
It was great for HomeGrid Forum to be a part of this event, particularly as it provided a platform for us to open-up discussions surrounding certification – something we believe to be critical for IoT interoperability success. As I have previously discussed, the importance of industry-wide certification is often underestimated, yet offers a solution to ease the bandwidth crunch we are beginning to see as devices are increasingly added to the home network.
Many in the industry enjoyed discussing solutions to the challenges we are facing and how interoperability can be realised within the IoT.
We'll be heading to the IoT China 2016 Chengdu Business Forum in Chengdu, China, on November 23 2016, if you'd like to connect.
